Title: The Great Return - Terra Incognita
Medium: Watercolour on synthetic paper
Inspired by Artimis II
This collection was conceived in 2025 around the time the Artemis II mission was in the media. I had learned about something called "the Overview Effect", a phenomenon experienced by all Astronauts who view our planet from space for the first time. The effect brings on strong emotions and feelings of deep connection to the fragility of our only home within the vast universe.
My intention with this collection was to invite viewers to feel that sense of awe and wonder through this work. I conceived of a rotating frame that would allow the viewer to "change their world view" at will - something we all need to embrace if we are to help our struggling home become healthy again.
The work is professionally mounted behind non-glare Acrylite with a simple hanging system suitable for any wall.
Rotating frame artwork is currently available in 10" and 24" sizes.
I am available for commissions and private appointments.
